Whistler, British Columbia, Canada
Located in Canada’s province of British Columbia, Whistler is a large municipality and consists of countless neighborhoods. The entire area is known as a resort town and was the host venue for the 2010 Winter Olympics and Paralympics. Although Whistler is broken up differently by different sources, the areas are typically Whistler North, Whistler South, Whistler Center, and Whistler Village, and sometimes Whistler Valley.
Whistler North includes Alpine Meadow, Emerald Estates, Rainbow, and Green Lake. Alpine Meadows is also part of Whistler Valley; an area known for its calm neighborhood setting and overlooking the Whistler Golf Course. Additionally, Alpine Meadows has a blend when it comes to living options, from ski cabins to townhomes. People find a stunning view of Rainbow Mountain, Whistler Mountain, Blackcomb Mountain, and the general valley, as well as Whistler Secondary School which is located there. Emerald Estates got its name from the amazing views of Green Lake that glisten like jewels. Green Lake is also infamous for its frigid waters and a “ghost town” on the far shores of the lake.
Furthermore, Whistler’s center is a hub of constant activity and includes Whistler Cay Estates,, Whistler Cay Heights, Spruce Grove, White Gold, Blueberry Hill, Alta Vista, Brio, and Nesters, collectively known as “the Village” by locals. Spruce Grove is where there are baseball fields and housing for everybody; employees, families, and duplexes. Meanwhile, White Gold is one of the oldest communities in Whistler. Brio has a ton of single-family rooms and skiing developments and Blueberry Hill is a lure for tourists who prefer nightly accommodations. Alta Vista borders Alta Lake and provides a lakeside living experience while taking in a breathtaking view of Blackcomb Mountain and Whistler Mountain. Nesters is a neighborhood that borders Whistler Village, yet the area includes a fire hall and school community.
Whistler Village is where Whistler Village is, as well as Blackcomb Mountain and Blackcomb Benchlands. It comes as a surprise to some tourists that Whistler Village is the site of hundreds of stores, from groceries to liquor, one can find it all. The area was previously a garbage dump before becoming the center of activity and metropolitan-type bustle within a tranquil location.
Moreover, Whistler South consists of neighborhoods such as Alpha Lake, Nita Lake, Nordic Estates, Whistler Creekside, Kadenwood, Bayshores, Spring Creek, Cheakamus Crossing, and Function Junction. Nordic Estates overlooks the mountains and is a subtle reminder of solace in Whistler. Cheakamus Crossing is a great addition to the community and it serves a living development of apartments and condos for locals. Function Junction is known for its unique mix of local folks and antique shops while also having excavation companies and different industries running in the background.
Whistler is a spectacular resort municipality that brings out the best in all of its neighborhoods and provides tourists with a taste of everything in blissful enjoyment.
